Now that registration is upon us, I’m bemoaning Iowa Law’s lack of public professor and/or course
evaluations. At my beloved alma mater, all course evaluations were submitted and published online for prospective students to evaluate before registering for the next semester’s classes. Professors could (and occasionally did) opt-out of online publication, but this system was useful (and sometimes entertaining) when registering for the next semester’s classes. It also served as an incentive for professors–in other words, if you are really terrible, everyone’s going to know, nobody’s going to register for your classes, and higher-ups might ask questions.
So now I’m stuck. Tim and I are sitting around looking at course schedules trying to figure out the least awful classes to take, and we have nothing concrete to go on. We are following a pattern of: “Have you heard anything about X class?”, “Uh, I think someone might have said it really sucked once, but I don’t really remember?” It’s extraordinarily unhelpful, and I am stuck with an empty schedule.
So, fellow readers, what do you/don’t you recommend on the Fall 2008 menu?
Aren’t the evaluations on reserve in the Library?
Aren’t the evaluations on reserve in the Library?
Probably, but who wants to spend more time at the library?
I demand CTECs!! Also, is Admin with Bonfield in the fall? Take Admin with Bonfield. It’s crazy hard. And you’ll learn a ton.
Bonfield’s so loud. He wakes me up every morning, so if you have to take an early class, take it with him.
I love crim pro and I love Tomko - I don’t know how the two are together, but I’m thinking they’ll be fab.
CON LAW II WITH TODD PETTYS. I scream that in all caps because Todd is the best to ever have done it.
