Welcome to the First Floor.  For those familiar with the Boyd Law Building, the first floor is a student space.  Sunlight never penetrates, the temperature rises and plummets, the microwaves come and go, but one thing remains constant.  As long as an exterior door is unlocked, there will always be a student who seeps into the building and finds herself toiling away down there, eyes drying in front of a laptop.  If not in the hallway, then the journal or moot court offices.

So, this blog is for law students, although don’t expect it to be all about the law.  It’ll be political, it’ll be about books and music; it’ll also probably degenerate into the personal, gossipy, and angsty.  However bad it gets around here, one thing that The First Floor will not do is permit anonymous blog posting.  That’s for our less reputable competitors.
